Dear AuntieDote,
My name is Alex. There is one element of your website that I disagree with, if in fact, I am correct in my interpretation. That is namely, that I'm getting the vibe that the general consensus among the members of HBI is that an emotionally healthy person--male or female--is someone who NEVER gets lonely, even if they go years and years without a partner, and that if they do enter a relationship, it's strictly and solely because they find the person attractive and not because they're itching for some loving and companionship, courtesy of having gone a long time without it. We all need love and support, right? Isn't it part of being human? Is there really anything pathetic or shameful in someone looking for positive reinforcement--for the good things they may already have going on in their lives--in the form of a partner? Or should we only find partners just to "have fun" and not to fulfill a need(namely, the need to be loved) that is intrinsic in all humans, male, female, heterosexual and homosexual?
