Despite what my family thinks, being 28 with no expectation of marriage in the future does not make me a spinster. It makes me a person in charge of her own life, responsible for her own happiness, and beholden to no one but my cat. Because he's a demanding little pussy.

I will seek out people who challenge me, books and art and music, and I will feel rich in spirit because these are, to me, the important things in life. I will avoid stupidity, no matter what form it takes, like the plague because my life is too full to make room for that which does not encourage growth.
