I am a Heartless Bitch because I support equal-rights feminism that
strives for fairness rather than the faux feminism of the Spice Girls' "Girl
Power" or the Society for Cutting Up Men's (SCUM) principles. I believe that
feminism encompasses many fields. People may think that some fields are
degrading to women, but I believe that although compromising one's morals or
expectations for the sake of someone else's big ego goes against feminism, it's
still feminism as long as it's a conscious choice and a means to an end that
will end up with the her on top. Male genocide is not the answer.
I am a Heartless Bitch because I refuse to become "bisexual" for the sake
of making boyfriends/husbands feel like center-of-the-universe pimps. I do
believe in bisexuality and homosexuality, but I also believe that it is based on
actually being attracted to people, not fulfilling men's jerkoff fantasies.
Bisexuality and lesbianism are not tantamount to "threesome." Why is it always
the woman who make those sort of sacrifices? Also, what's with those men who
encourage their girlfriends to make out with other girls at parties, but turn
around and start making out with girls under the "logic" of, "If you get to make
out with girls, then I get to make out with girls too."
I am a Heartless Bitch because I am proud to be a nurse and will tell you
to bugger off if make cracks about naughty nurses, being a hero male doctor's
handmaiden, that I must be a caring, gentle motherly type, that I'm out to
gold-dig by seducing a doctor, or that I'm "too smart to be a nurse." Too smart
to be a nurse? HA! Nursing school is deadly competitive and the job is a
battlefield. While faux feminists say that it is degrading for women to continue
to enter "pink collar jobs" such as teaching, nursing, sewing, homemaking, etc,
it's actually a lot of hard work and can be very rewarding. Yes, girls should be
encouraged to excel in traditionally male fields such as maths and sciences, but
no disdaining attitudes should be given towards these hard working women and
their choices.
I'm a Heartless Bitch because I can't stand people who say "No offense, but
(insert offensive line)", or "I'm the kind of person who speaks my mind."
There's a difference between speaking your mind and intentionally insulting
others without guilt. Yes, they can be used inoffensively, especially the
latter, but too many people abuse it by using such lines as Get out of Jail Free
cards. If you're going to say something potentially offensive, either stand
behind it without an excuse, or just shut your trap! While I was struggling with
chemistry, one guy asked me, "No offense, but you don't seem smart enough for
this. Are you sure that you want to enter the healthcare field?" Why do people
say offensive things and say, "No offense," instead of not saying anything
offensive at all or at least try to use real tact? I got an A in the class, by
the way.
I am a Heartless Bitch because I refuse to date or befriend people who see
me as a crutch. Please solve your own issues before you crap all over me with
your Publisher's Clearing House-sized subscriptions of issues. If you're a "nice
guy," I will direct you to the appropriate section of the Heartless Bitches
website.
