I refuse to rely on and flirt with men to get my work done. Everything that I have achieved has been self achieved - I have not relied on any men for anything except good sex. Any men I know and/or work with are treated with equality and respect and I only accept the same treatment back.

I once went up to a group of men on a building site (about 20 years ago) when I was working near by and challenged them for whistling at me. I just asked them how they would feel if I were their daughter? I asked them not to undermine me whilst I was working - and I promised to do the same for them. They were stunned into silence !!

I work hard for equality between the sexes by showing respect for our differences and I feel very disheartened when I see women playing games with men and other women. It undermines centuries of fighting for female independence. We are responsible for ensuring that we don't fall into out "stereotypes" thereby allowing men to become theirs. I feel angry when I see men manipulating women in any way - there is now no excuse for it.

We still have a long way to go - and sites like this can make a great contribution to the education of women. Empowerment and confidence in ourselves is the only answer.
