I do not have time to reassure you that your accomplishments which pale in comparison to mine are just as valid, and just as important. I hold multiple degrees, and am in the process of advancing them. You spawned. I'm not going to give anyone a leg-up or a contact or recommend them for a position because they knew me before I made something of myself. If they wanted that, they should have been compete ting with me for top scores and class rank. And no, I'm also not going to slow down the pace of my life because it makes someone else feel inadequate. I'm not going to belittle my accomplishments to make family and friends feel better for doing a Grade A face plant when faced with the same hurdles I was. You can pick the grass out of your teeth and try again, but I'll likely be across the finish line before you're done rubbing your boo-boos.
