Well, because if I don't live my life, who's going to live it for me? Thirty-odd years on this planet have taught me that it's up to me to paddle my own canoe. I happily do my own thing, on my own terms. I respect and appreciate others, male or female, who are unafraid to follow their own path. I've traversed the span from geeky to odd to completely independent, and it's been a wonderful ride. I've learned to sometimes be Heartless, but that's one of life's occupational hazards. Bitch? I've earned that label, and I wear it with pride. I don't look to get my hackles up, but, dammit, if there's a need for hackles? Well, I've got 'em. In spades.
