I'm a sociable misanthrope and I don't suffer fools gladly. Willful ignorance and deliberately fuzzy thinking are two of my biggest peeves. I'm unashamedly a feminist, and one of the things that means to me is holding everyone to the same standard: women (and men) who dumb themselves down are worse than useless. I like guys just fine, but the state of gender relations in the U.S. is badly decayed, and there seems to be enormous mutual contempt on both sides. I'm engaged to a wonderful woman, whom I will marry as soon as this great nation of ours gets it together, and I finally have what I have always wanted: a relationship of equals, of comrades. I don't want to think that this is because we're both women; I have to believe that it's possible, with work, for any two people.
