I know what I want in life and I have made the decision to go get it. I am a single mom, I work full time, and go to school full time. I realize that even though I am a mother I also need to take some time for myself and refuse to feel the "mom guilt" because I know that I do everything I can to be the best mother I can be.

My desire to earn my Ph.D. is only exceeded by my desire to be the best mother I can be by MY standards and no one else's; My desire to show my son that women are strong, intelligent, independent individuals with thoughts and opinions that mean no less and no more than his own; Finally my desire to be a strong role model while doing whatever I can to minimize the effects that not having a father in his life may have on my son.

I have chosen to not let the events of my past linger or hold me back. I have accepted responsibility for all of the mistakes that I have made in my life and have released regret and unnecessary guilt. I have established the standards by which I want to live my life, and I live by them. I have established the standards I require in a partner, and I found him. I refuse to hold any other person to any standard that I cannot myself live up to, but I do not deal well with those who fall significantly short.
