I am a Heartless Bitch because I refused to pretend that I was stupid
in high school, which is what so many girls did simply because they didn't want
boys to be intimidated by them. Who wants to be smart? I do, damnit;
I don't need a fucking prom date! The entire world has become a giant
Baskin Robbins with all 31 flavors of idiot and I'm sure as hell not going to
contribute to that.
I am a Heartless Bitch I have had it up to my eyeballs with all the
assclowns who think I went to a women's college so I wouldn't be distracted by
"all the cute college guys." I think if your main concern about college is
being distracted by the opposite sex, then you shouldn't be in school. You
should be working at Burger King because you haven't grown up yet. I went
to a women's college so I would be taken seriously as an academic. One of the
many benefits of such an education is that no one there thought it was novel for
women to be interested in chemistry, physics, or math. We were all
strongly encouraged to pursue whatever field of study we wanted, even those
traditionally "male dominated subjects." I strongly object to the primeval
notion that women should consider their college years as an opportunity to find
a husband. Women, regardless of age, should have an intellectual curiosity
that goes beyond wondering if their shoes match their purse.
I'm a Heartless Bitch because I refuse to become a human PEZ-dispenser for
my father's potential grandchildren. If my biological time bomb does go
off, I'll get myself a kitten. I know my life will be fulfilling even if I
never expel a parasite through my vagina. My goal is to get my PhD in
chemistry. Then I want to travel. "Domestic bliss" is the last
fucking item on my list of things that I want to achieve.
I'm a Heartless Bitch because I understand that "pro-choice" means that a
woman should have a choice as to what she wants to do with her uterus.
Just because I support abortion doesn't mean I think it should be a national
pastime. I equally respect the decision to not have children as well as
the decision to have them. I don't give a flying fuck if people don't
agree with me, all I ask is that I am afforded the same respect.
I'm a Heartless Bitch because I can stand up for myself and because I know
that I don't need a man in my life to be happy. Just because I do have a
boyfriend doesn't mean my life would fall apart if he left. I don't hate
men but I won't be treated like a fucking doormat. I make my own rules, and I'm
not going to cave in to anyone.
Finally, I'm a Heartless Bitch because I don't feel the need to justify
myself to anyone. I'm happy with who I am and what I've
accomplished. I would rather be called a Bitch than live my life according
to someone else's standards.
