I seek the better portion for myself, not for their praise of my hard
work, but because I wanted to do it. Further, I wear what I want, I watch what I
want, I listen to what I want not because it's what society says, or the
opposite for that matter, but because I wanted to. My tattoos and piercings are
not done to impress people, even if they are visible.
I believe a true compliment is based on something a person has control
over, instead of some fluke in genetic roulette. Eye color, hair texture, and
face shape say nothing of one's effort or personality, unless they taught the
plastic surgeon/salonist who gave it to them.
Any person who blames my adamant opinion on the need for Prozac or hormones
deserves to be stocked and shown at least 36 hours of Teletubbies while drinking
magnesium citrate every hour. When I don't want someone touching me, why is it
some chemical imbalance that incites it?
If you don't want it, don't ask for it; if you ask for my opinion, I'll
give it. Conversely, if you want it, ask for it; I don't read minds. If you need
help moving the freakin' couch, ask for it.
