It's not about not giving a fuck. It's about /actually/ giving a fuck. Sure, it would be a lot easier not to give a fuck. I can't imagine the ease with which I could make it through life if I just kept my lips puckered prettily instead of using them to pierce over-inflated egos, denounce stupidity, and fight back against fledging attempts to incriminate me for actually thinking. But I'm no good at that game. I'm no good at reducing myself to your assumptions about me, rolling with your punches, or eating up your bullshit. I admit it. You win. You win with your material obsessions, your uncultivated ideas, your ass-licking obedience to The Man, The Rules, The Game, The World. But that's okay. I expected you to win. Because I never bothered to play. Not because I don't give a fuck... but because I actually fucking do.
