I am a Heartless Bitch because I share a lot of ideology with the
Heartless Bitch creed. I like the fact this site endorses the kind of feminism
that empowers women, as opposed to the kind that hates men, or hates other women
simply because they choose to be feminine. You can be a Heartless Bitch with a
fashion sense, without being an automatic moron.
As for why personally I think I have Heartless Bitch material- I try all
the time to know me, to focus on introspection, and understand my own
priorities, and ideals, and goals. I think that is the single most powerful
thing anyone can do for themselves. Because I know where I stand with so many
issues, I also have no problem standing up for myself, my beliefs, and those I
believe in. Whether its a cause or a friend, I understand the importance of
introspection turned to action. I love the quote from Edmund Burke- "The only
thing necessary for evil to triumph is that good men do nothing." That applies
to personal relationships, global relations, and feminism.
Also, while I am in general a nice, easy going person, I have a temper that
I try to control/use as appropriate, and only moderate patience for true
stupidity. I have no problem with people who are not "intelligent" in the
classic sense, but I cannot stand stupid people, who rush heedlessly into
things, ricochet around into manufactured drama, and repeat the process
expecting different results. It makes me want to climb a wall or go all
"whack-a-mole" version human.
I have a tendency to be a bit long-winded in writing ( one of my passions)
so I'll wrap it up after three paragraphs so I don't get my application tossed
solely based on it being a novel. My one or two liners may not seem very
Heartless Bitch at first glance, but I think they sum up my own thinking process
nicely, and I rather have a mold to fit me, than make myself fit a mold.
I'll definitely keep reading this site even if I get denied- though hopefully I
don't end up in the Weak of the Week pile. I can always use some inspiration and
reassurance that its OK to be a Bitch to people sometimes- I can easily imagine
it being more useful as I get older to boot.
