I was not always a Heartless Bitch. However, long before I read your article on the 'Nice Guy', I was confronted with one myself. When the 'Nice Girl' tactics didn't work, I finally realized that in order to solve my problem, I had to tell him exactly and in no uncertain terms that a relationship would never be, and get him out of my life.

It worked and lo, was a new dawn upon me.

Why am I a Heartless Bitch? Perhaps because I dared to choose furthering my own education over someone who was too big of a weenie to suck it up and come with me and tried to get me to "settle down" with him. I'm sure a wedding he could barely afford would have been MUCH better than a PhD.

Perhaps because I told him exactly what my choice was and why, rather than covering for him and enabling his asshat behaviour.

Kindness and tolerance are not weaknesses but they are best used sparingly and where they are deserved. If it makes me a Heartless Bitch to not waste time with the morons of this world other apart from a good crack with a broadsword of +Clue, so be it. It's a badge I'll happily wear.
