I dumped my Nice Guy husband of 16 years in the middle of mental health treatment because he has 0 potential of curing his 'I'm a basket case' problems. I don't have any more time to wait around while he pretends he's everything I want.
That's why HE thinks I'm a Heartless Bitch. Here are my other charming qualities:
I'm opinionated - I'm politically and socially active, often taking the side of the underdog not because I 'have' to or it's 'trendy' but because I've researched the issue (OMG, not brains!), chosen a side, and volunteered my services.
In my personal life, I have pretty high standards. I consider them 'non-debatable'. I will cut people out of my life if they can't maintain them. I'm not talking appearance here. I don't waste my time and energy on people who have no ambition, who don't stick to their principles, who will let people walk on them. I'll pick you up once, maybe twice, but then I expect you to walk beside me. If you can't, you get left behind. I am only fiercely loyal to those who deserve it.
I know who I am, how I got here, and where I'm headed. I like myself in spite of my flaws, and I'm true to myself. I'm ambitious, independent, mouthy (but only when I have to be), geeky, intelligent, witty, artistic, fat (OMG!), southern (we have our own particular brand of Bitch), and sometimes peculiar. I'm shamefully unrepentant.
Other assets:
I cuss like a sailor, but only when it's warranted. I don't type like a moron because I respect the English language. I'm knowledgeable in many areas and always willing to lend a hand to help someone with problems that need my type of skills. I'm a good ally, and a notorious enemy. I know what I'm good at, and what I suck at, and I don't try to bullshit people on either. I'm a cripple (yes I did just say that), and it's always good to have a diverse crew of Bitches. Especially since we're the type they'll never think to watch for.
