I am a Heartless Bitch because I don't deny my feelings anymore, but neither do I let myself be ruled by them. I will still do whatever it takes to get a job done or a situation resolved, but I believe that feeling emotion and ignoring it makes me truly heartless. Before, I didn't know what I was missing. I'm a very mercenary girl, and I don't cry over things until I'm alone, because while crying doesn't solve anything, it is still a valid human emotional response. If something must be done, I don't simper or whine; I do not, will not, claim by right of emotional or familial ties, the protection of any man (or woman). I solve my own problems, or live with the consequences.

I am a bitch because I think it's funny to flirt with men, and I have a deep and abiding belief that I am a truly intelligent, sensible, beautiful and desirable woman. I will never be convinced that I deserve less-than-human treatment from anyone, certainly not any man. No one will ever trick me into being a slave to a pack of kids and some unwashed man. I am a heartless, mercenary bitch because I am voluntarily choosing a career that takes me away from home for months at a time, which precludes a relationship and a family. I know, I care, I'm doing it anyhow.
