Oh my. I am often amazed at the ineptitude of society to understand
the plight of the Southern woman. We are stereotyped as sitting of the
veranda wearing our whale bone corsets and bell skirts sipping a mint
julep and speaking of "big daddy and his plantation" whilst dreaming of
the beaux that may or may not grace our parlor later that afternoon.
However, I am an educated mother of three girls working as a joint
professor of Womens' Studies. I have raised my daughters with the
mindset that women do not have to sit back complacently, relying solely
on men (or anyone for that matter) to take care of us. Women
have a hard time embracing themselves as independents, and I feel the
word bitch is a term that implies one who defies the difficult
circumstances into which they were born, and proves for herself that she
can handle anything life throws her way. A true Heartless Bitch has the
ability to see the world through eyes that criticize and laugh at the
(unfortunately) inept way this world runs. I know that I embody and
practice this. I hope my daughters also grow up to be Heartless Bitches
in the true sense of the word.
Yes! I want to read more from Real Life Heartless Bitches
