It's becoming more and more evident as the years go by that ignorance
may be bliss, but I will never let the bastards take me alive. It's
so satisfying to be tagged as a bitter man-hating bitch just because
you realize that everything is lackluster. There's so much
lip-service given regarding the idea that it's harder to be optimistic
than cynical, and it takes courage to love -- blah blah blah. Sure,
blindly following a mantra no matter what the situation is ignorant, however
"putting on a happy face" when in doubt is just crap. Humor is a
beautiful thing to be enjoyed by those who truly understand its
value, not card carrying Hallmark shoppers who read Chicken Soup for
the Soul.
