Siobhan
...I've never really thought of myself as being a Heartless Bitch in
quite those words. My life isn't about shouting to the world how much I
hate males (or females) or how nasty or skanky or terrible I am to
people. My life is about getting on with it. There's no point in pissing
and moaning and beating your breast. Get on with it.
Being a Heartless Bitch, to me, is about being in control, eschewing
those stereotypes and "ideals" that society tries to force on women. So
I don't shave my legs or under my arms? It doesn't make me any less of a
woman. Just because I choose to work and look after myself before
throwing it all away on the first testosterone-laden Neanderthal doesn't
mean I'm a hairy butch-dyke.
I'm happy to be single. I'm happy to be in a relationship should I be in
one at any stage. I'm not straight; I'm not a lesbian. I'm
non-judgmental in my sexuality. If someone approaches me as an equal and
they're genuinely attractive to me, then male or female I'll accept them
as an equal partner and lover. I'm not categorised by what's between my
legs -- neither should anyone else be.
A person should groom and preen themselves for their sake. I'll wear
makeup and dresses and do my hair when I feel like feeling soft and
feminine and pretty. But I don't feel that way all the time, so I don't
dress that way all the time. That's my choice, as it is anyone's choice.
Ignorance, idiocy and stupidity piss me off. Education is important. Not
only just school learning, but education in life. The amount of people
who just don't learn their lessons from the frequent ass-kickings the
world hands out is absolutely phenomenal. We should live and learn.
The world can be a wonderful place. Your life is mostly what you make of
it. Being a Heartless Bitch is about taking what you've got and being
happy with what you like, and fixing what you don't like. It's about
being active, intelligent and firm. Fuck what anyone else thinks; we're
in it for ourselves.
